About the Project
The redevelopment of the Scarborough foreshore, one of Perth’s most popular beach precincts has transformed the area into a year-round family-friendly beachside zone.
Part of this includes the construction of a skate park and bowl which is the second largest skate park in Australia. This skate park includes a bowl and flat concrete skate plaza area with ramps and jumps. Constructing a 12-foot-deep Skate Bowl is the most complex, skilful and challenging design requirement of any Skate Park element to build. This is a testament to the skilful team directly employed by MG Group for the Project Management and tradespersons to succeed and construct this Skate Park.
Our contract comprises of the skate park and concrete works for detailed walls and stairs throughout the foreshore precinct.
The skating element has a value of $2.2M which will become the largest skate park including the largest Skate bowl in WA and an extensive street skate park.
MG’s scope of work included drainage, detailed earthworks and excavations, forming and pouring walls, forming and pouring concrete skate elements, stainless steel balustrade and stainless-steel cast in skate elements.
In conjunction with the skate park, MG Group built additional hardscape concrete walls, constructed many sets of stairs and in-situ walls along the foreshore.
