About the Project
The Malabar Park BMX Facility, home to the Cockburn BMX Club, is set to become a premier location for BMX racing and community activities. This state-of-the-art facility features a Union Cyclist Internationale (UCI) BMX racing track, capable of hosting large events and attracting competitors from around the region.
In addition to the racing track, the facility includes a multi-purpose building, which offers dedicated areas for the Cockburn BMX Club and Friends of the Community Inc. This space is intended to foster community engagement and support local initiatives. The Friends of the Community Inc., a local charity, will utilize the facility as a base for their operations, continuing their mission to reinvest proceeds from food sales at events back into the local community.
As part of the City’s commitment to community development, the project incorporated extensive infrastructure improvements. These include the construction of a new clubhouse, covering an area of 350 square meters, and the installation of high-quality lighting to enhance visibility and safety. The project also involved significant bulk earthworks, landscaping, and irrigation, ensuring the facility is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
