Noranda Netball Court Redevelopment

Project: Noranda Netball Court Redevelopment

Client: City of Bayswater

Completed: 2021

The Noranda Netball Courts are located at Noranda Sporting Complex and are leased by the City of Bayswater to the Noranda Netball Association. The original courts were laid circa 1985 and the acrylic top playing surface has been re-laid on a number of occasions since original court construction. Court surface cracking has been increasing over the last 15 years presenting a risk to players on court. The city commissioned an engineering consultant geotechnical report indicating failing of the original asphalt and sub-surface structure. The report recommended removal and replacement of the asphalt surface.

The works were to undertake the design and construction for Noranda Netball Courts Redevelopment. Works include demolition and removal of existing court surface, subbase and infrastructure and the installation of new drainage, kerbing, sub-base, Laykold acrylic sports court surfacing and court infrastructure. The City and Netball Club were extremely happy with the finished product of the new surface and free draining system that has subsequently held up well to the winter storms.

The project also included demolition and disposal, electrical decommissioning, working in a residential environment, protection of surrounding assets, working with subcontractors, construction of sports courts.
