About this Project

Mends Street Connect South is about creating a dynamic destination at this important riverside location. It’s such a lively place where tourists, families, workers and residents gather during the day and linger into the evening to watch the twinkling lights on the other side of the river.

It is envisaged to be a both a transport and commercial hub, where local businesses thrive, and the diversity and rich history of the area are celebrated.

    The Connect South project is situated amongst an urban entertaining precinct area on Mends Street and South Perth Esplanade, adjacent a ferry station along the South Perth Foreshore and goes through one of Perth’s busiest cycle thoroughfares.

    The project also included the demolition/removal of pavilion, removal of services, pavement, earthworks, hydraulic infrastructure- storm water drainage, potable water, electrical infrastructure/high voltage power, distribution board, street lighting, decorative lighting, lighting control systems, external audio system, CCTV security, extensive concrete works, bespoke shade shelters, bespoke street furniture, various hard pavements, soft landscaping.
    MG Group worked closely with local businesses, residents, City of South Perth, and qualified traffic designers to develop the safest and most efficient traffic and pedestrian control outcomes to successfully minimise disruptions.
