Kings Park Terraces & Pavilions

The project involved construction of a botanic terraces and two pavilions including associated paths and infrastructure. This newly completed iconic landmark in Kings Park will become one of the most photographed views in Perth. This consists of the main Art Feature construction of two complex designed steel “Tree” structure’s as the pavilion component along with concrete terraces. The Terraces are a delightful experience of interpretive artwork and landscape design representing the botanical history of WA. They are set amongst the newly planted gardens representing our state’s precious and unique native flora, and also a magnificent new space for the whole community to share and enjoy in Kings Park.

MG Group were required to undertake all demolition and site clearing as required and as indicated on the drawings and any other as necessary to efficiently construct the works, all necessary site demolition as required to construct the works. Working in Kings Park for the Botanic Gardens Authority has strict guidelines to follow in regards to protecting the Gardens and we had to avoid damage to existing facilities and services and protect all trees as specified. MG were required to undertake all bulk earthworks as necessary to ensure the works can be constructed as specified, including placement of imported turf sand to all turf and garden bed areas.

The many levels of terraces were completed by MG Group which involved all the formwork, concrete pouring and finishing to approved levels with and exposed aggregate finish for the stairs.
